# Git3 targets AI agent interoperability through decentralized MCP enabling economic code interaction
Git3's Phase 2 roadmap (Q2-Q3 2025) includes building decentralized Model Context Protocol (MCP) infrastructure to enable AI agents to interact with repositories through economic transactions. The project lists as Phase 2 deliverables: "Decentralized MCP (Model Context Protocol) foundation" and "AI agent integration for code execution and verification."
The vision is that AI agents can execute code, verify implementations, and access repositories while automatically paying micro-fees to developers through x402 payment rails.
This creates a two-sided market where:
- Developers earn agent royalties when AI systems use their code
- AI agents gain permissionless access to on-chain code repositories
- Economic incentives align code quality with agent usage patterns
The project explicitly includes "Agent Interoperability: Enable AI agents to interact with repositories through decentralized MCP (Model Context Protocol)" as a core benefit and positions agent royalties as a revenue stream: "Micro-fees collected when AI agents execute or verify code, with royalties distributed to original developers."
This is speculative because: (1) decentralized MCP does not yet exist as production infrastructure, (2) AI agent economic behavior at scale is unproven, (3) whether micro-fee payment rails create sufficient developer incentives is untested, and (4) the technical architecture for agents to verify and execute on-chain code trustlessly is not detailed in the source material.
