## Overview
|
|
Helium is a decentralized wireless networking protocol and one of the flagship DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network) projects on Solana. HNT (Helium Network Token) is the primary reward and governance token, used to reward hotspot operators who maintain network coverage and spent by customers building IoT applications on the network. Following HIP-138, Helium consolidated its network tokenomics around HNT.
